The difference between aluminium sheets and aluminium alloy sheets

Aluminium sheet is pure aluminium sheet, for 1 series, for example 1060 belongs to 1 series. Alloy aluminium sheets can be roughly divided into 7 series, respectively 2-8 series. For example, 2A21 belongs to 2 series, 3003 belongs to 3 series, 5052 belongs to 5 series, and so on.

The 1000 series are pure aluminium sheets, such as 1060. It is 99% or more.

The 2000 series are aluminium sheets with copper as the main alloying element. The hardness of 2000 series aluminium alloy sheets is relatively high compared to other grades. 2000 series aluminium alloy sheets are also known as aerospace aluminium in aerospace applications. Due to its less widespread use in civil applications, there are currently fewer factories producing 2000 series aluminium alloy sheets. The price of 2000 series aluminium sheets is also relatively high. At present, the 2000 series has been replaced by the 5052 series for civil use.

The 3000 series is an aluminium sheet with manganese as the main alloying element. The 3000 series is represented by 3003 and 3a21 aluminium sheets. The main advantage of the 3000 series is that they are rust resistant and are widely used in humid environments such as air conditioners and refrigerators. The price is also very advantageous compared to other alloys.

The 4000 series is an aluminium sheet with manganese as the main alloying element. It is not widely used at present.

The 5000 series is a representative series of aluminium alloy sheets. There are mainly grades such as 5052 5083. It is currently the most commonly used aluminium alloy plate in China and internationally.

6000 series is the combination of 4000 and 5000, the main alloy elements include silicon and magnesium, the representative grade is 6061-T6 aluminium plate. It is a solid hot melt treated aluminium sheet.

The 7000 series is a combination of the 7075 series, which is the main representative grade. Mainly in terms of hardness, performance and 2000 series is very close. It is not commonly used at present.

8000 series is 8011 as the main representative, to do bottle caps as the main function of the aluminum plate, less commonly used.
