Although the element aluminium is abundant in the earth's crust, there are not many high-grade, industrially mined bauxite ores. The alumina mined from the mines has many impurities and needs to be chemically purified to obtain high purity alumina powder, which is then supplied to the electrolytic aluminium plant, where it is then electrolysed at high temperatures to reduce the alumina and obtain a pure aluminium metal solution. The high temperature aluminium metal liquid can be cast directly into ordinary flat ingots for rolling after cold material addition, refining, de-gassing and dross removal. Or the high temperature aluminium liquid, after moderate refining, is cast into small aluminium bricks for remelting. Processing method: Cold-rolled (CC)

Products: Cold rolled sheets, strips and aluminium foil blanks.

Features: aluminium sheet and coil with uniform organisation and properties and good mechanical properties; high dimensional accuracy, good surface quality and sheet shape; can be rolled to produce thin sheets and foils; will produce process hardening and high energy consumption for deformation.
