Properties of aluminum alloys

Aluminium alloy has low density, but relatively high strength, close to or more than steel, good plasticity, can be processed into a variety of profiles, has excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, industrial use, the use of second only to steel. Some aluminium alloys can be heat treated to obtain good mechanical properties, physical properties and corrosion resistance. Hard aluminium alloys are of the AI-Cu-Mg system and generally contain a small amount of Mn, which can be strengthened by heat treatment. Its characteristics are hardness, but plasticity is poor. Super hard aluminium alloy is Al-Cu-Mg-Zn system, which can be strengthened by heat treatment, and is an aluminium alloy with strength at room temperature, but with poor sex and fast softening at high temperature. Forged aluminium alloys are mainly Al-Zn-Mg-Si alloys. Although there are many kinds of elements added, the content is small, so they have excellent thermoplasticity and are suitable for forging, so they are also called forged aluminium alloys.

Aluminium has good electrical conductivity, is light and forms a dense and stable oxide film in air, which has led to interest in its high corrosion resistance and has begun to be used as a conductive material in the electronics and energy sectors.

However, when the surface is treated, the oxide film can reduce processability. For example, when it is used as a conductive material, the oxide film increases the contact resistance, generates a lot of heat in the joints and increases electrical losses.

Aluminium has long been considered a "difficult material to plate", with unstable plating and poor adhesion. We have now developed a stable and reliable process to solve the problems in surface treatment processing.
