Painting is one of the most critical processes in the entire aluminium coil coating production line. The quality of the painted product, especially the apparent quality, directly affects the decorative effect of the product. Therefore, it is important to understand the common defects in the painting process and the reasons for their formation.

There are many reasons for defects, the following 3 categories are common:

1. Raw materials

Paint and aluminium coil are the most important factors that can affect the quality of the painting process. Due to the colour difference between batches of paint, the coating rate is not high due to insufficient fineness of the paint, poor cooperation between paint and solvent, delamination, etc. will directly affect the painting effect and produce defects. The unevenness of the aluminium coil substrate, uneven film thickness, poor edge deflection, etc. also directly affect the quality of the product and the overall use. Therefore, when selecting raw materials, strict control should be exercised.

2、Equipment

The coating line requires the coating equipment to be in good condition, the coating equipment requires smooth running, no horizontal or vertical jitter, and the coating rollers require fine grinding. All rollers of the coating machine must be controlled within the permitted range, otherwise the surface quality of the coating will be seriously affected.

3. Environment

The interior of the painting room must be clean, dust-proof, insect-proof and ventilated to ensure that the quality of the painted surface is not contaminated. At the same time, the process conditions should be changed in time due to temperature changes.
