How much does it cost to melt a tonne of aluminium ingots?

I'm not sure about other countries, but in our case in China, it is common for melting a tonne of aluminium ingots to cost 4,500 RMB, which is approximately 700 dollars, with labour costs etc involved. The amount of aluminium scrap needed for one tonne of ingots is in the range of 65-85%. If it is pure aluminium scrap for structural profiles, 1 tonne of aluminium scrap may melt 0.95~0.98 tonne of ingots; if it is in the form of aluminium scrap, aluminium foil and other small, light structures, 1 tonne of aluminium scrap may melt 0.85~0.90 tonne of ingots.

Aluminium scrap is a common name for recycled aluminium. Specific utilization rate with the quality of aluminum scrap has a great correlation, smelting process to high temperature, can burn volatile part of the impurities, casting ingots have pouring mouth, cooling forming ingots to cut off the pouring mouth, which pouring mouth impurities, such as pores inside, which is the main loss, the above 80% utilization rate estimate is the average.
