Electrode foil is the main material for the production of aluminum electrolytic capacitors, and the production cost of electronic aluminum foil and electrolyte accounts for 30% to 70% of the total cost of aluminum electrolytic capacitors (varies with the size of the capacitor). As one of the most basic electronic components, aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in the electronic information industry and home appliances and other electronic products, with the characteristics of small size, large capacitance and low cost, especially the unit capacitance price is the cheapest among all capacitors, in line with the development trend of information products low price, market demand is large.

In the downstream terminal field, the most important application field of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is consumer electronics, accounting for 45%, followed by computers and peripheral products accounting for 24%, and energy-saving lighting accounting for 14%. The new energy industry generally needs frequency conversion to transmit power to the grid, so aluminum electrolytic capacitors are also widely used in wind power and photovoltaics.

According to data from the Information Center of the China Electronic Components Industry Association, the global demand for aluminum electrolytic capacitors is expected to be about 173 billion in 2025, with an average growth rate of about 3.5% from 2021 to 2025.
