5052 process performance

(1) Formability.

①The alloy has good plasticity in the hot state. Forging and die forging temperature of 420 ~ 475 ℃, in this temperature range for deformation rate of 80% of the thermal deformation.

Cold stamping performance is related to the alloy state. o state cold stamping performance is good, H32 and H34 state is second, H36/H38 state is not good.

(2) Welding properties.

①The alloy has good performance in gas welding, arc welding, resistance welding, spot welding and seam welding, and has a tendency to crystallize cracks when argon-arc welding. Brazing performance is good, but soft brazing performance is poor.

②High weld strength and plasticity, the weld strength reaches 90% to 95% of the strength of the base material. However, the gas tightness of the weld is not high. It is recommended to use 5A03 alloy as the solder, which can improve its gas tightness and eliminate the tendency of cracking.

(3) Machinability.

The machinability of the alloy is not good in the annealed state, but is improved in the cold work-hardened state.
